Bio

๋࣭ ⭑ About me! ๋࣭ ⭑
I’m a passionate and dedicated UX designer with a keen interest in creating delightful and user-centric digital experiences.
With a strong foundation in user research, I strive to understand user needs and translate them into intuitive and effective designs.
My approach to UX design is deeply rooted in empathy and understanding. I believe in advocating for the user throughout the design process and constantly refining designs based on user needs and preferences.
PROJECT #1

Bakery ordering mobile app
This app allows customers to order and customize their favorite pastries, where they can choose from a variety of options to see the nutritional information and ingredients it contains in case of allergies.

My role
Lead UX designer, UX researcher
User research, wireframing, designing, prototyping.

Duration
November 2023 - January 2024.

Goal
Create an app that is easy to use, without complicated functions and that meets the user needs therefore the user and the business maintain a harmony of good customer service.

Audience
The target audience for this project ranges from teenagers to elderly people.
Key challenges and constraints
1
Platform and device diversity
Our research showed that users use different platforms (iOS, Android) and devices (phones, tablets). We needed to consider these differences and create an app that provides a consistent experience across various platforms and devices.
2
Accessibility
Designing for accessibility was crucial, as the app needed to be usable by people with different abilities. Factors like text size, color contrast, screen reader support, and gestures for users with disabilities needed to be considered.
3
Time
The bakery needed this app to satisfy the customer experience and continue to bring service as much as the neighborhood keeps growing. The timeline given was 3 months.
Research conducted

I conducted interviews with potential users as my research method, I chose it because I wanted to connect with users and empathize with the struggles they wanted to express.
With the data obtained from interviews, I was able to identify user pain points, patterns, common themes, and significant insights that emerged across the interviews.
From those interviews, I was able to create insights and proceed with the design process effectively.
Initial concepts or design strategies

Once armed with research insights, I engaged in ideation sessions to generate a wide range of ideas on how to create an app that is easy to use and includes all the features the users were asking for. Brainstorming techniques like sketching were used to encourage creative thinking and exploration of various design possibilities to meet user's pain points.

Conclusion

Throughout this project, I gained valuable experience in conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes. I also sharpened my problem-solving skills by iterating on design solutions based on user feedback.
In addition to my project experience, I had support from Google’s instructors and that educational background has provided me with a solid foundation in design principles, human-computer interaction, and usability testing.
PROJECT #2

Order and track medical supplies website
This website was created to large and small facilities that needed to track medical supplies in their inventory and order them as well.

My role
Lead UX designer, UX researcher
User research, wireframing, designing, prototyping.

Duration
January 2024 - February 2024.

Goal
Create a website that allows employees and staff to see how many units of a product are in stock and where it’s stored, and order the products within the same website.

Audience
The target audience for this project ranges from people in their 20's to elderly people. This website is visually appealing and easy to use with no complicated functions.
Key challenges and constraints
1
Disorganization
The employees and staff of this facility had a hard time finding where the medical supplies needed for medical procedures were stored.
2
Out-of-stock supplies
There was no control of the medical supplies stored and this meant that they could not attend the patients with the corresponding treatments.
3
Technology deficiency
Since many elderly people worked in this facility, technology is not one of their strong points. They needed a website that could and would be easy to understand.
Research conducted

For this website, I used interviews directly with the employees and staff of this facility.
I had the great opportunity to interact and empathize with them to better understand the user pain points they were facing.
Initial concepts or design strategies

For this website I wanted to do something really simple for the employees and staff to use, very quick access and easy to understand.
In the final wireframe design, I came along with a couple ideas I had from the paper wireframes and put them together to get the final result.

Conclusion

Thanks to the support videos, lectures and project from Google course I was able to learn and enhance even more the accessibility in my projects and designs. I’m happy to keep learning and creating designs for all without any exceptions.
PROJECT #3

Start a company app & website
A cross-platform tool that helps people build their business, illustrating each step in an accessible way and helping them to know their progress towards their goal.

My role
Lead UX designer, UX researcher
User research, wireframing, designing, prototyping.

Goal
Design a cross-platform tool to help people learn how to start a company.

Duration
February 2024.

Audience
The target audience is anyone who would like to start a business and wants the experience to be uncomplicated.
Key challenges and constraints
1
Maintain motivation
Since starting a business is a process that takes time and patience, keeping the user motivated throughout the entire process was definitely something I had to keep in mind so that they would not give up and complete the entire process to successfully open the business.
2
Progress
As mentioned previously, starting a business takes time and patience. Creating a page where users could see their progress throughout this process was something that really needed to be taken care of to keep them motivated.
3
Reliable sources
Some users did not have sufficient resources to carry out market research or any other procedure involving extra money on their own, so it was important to find and publish reliable links from the U.S. Government as a free and reliable tool for users to avail themselves of these means.
Research conducted

For this project I relied on user interviews and surveys.
Interviews were used to connect with the users, empathize, see first time reaction to questions and to talk more about things they wanted to see on the app.
Surveys were used to avoid general repetitive questions in order not to overwhelmed users in the interviews.
Initial concepts or design strategies

For this project, I wanted to employ an illustrative and animated model that would help users stay motivated towards their ultimate goal: starting a business.

Conclusion

This was the final project I did with the Google course. Through all this great process I learned a lot of things and I am still hungry to keep learning. I know there are many things that could have been done better and this is why I’m here for that: to improve, grow and keep learning.
This was an incredible experience and I am happy to have interacted with people along the way and wake up every day with something new to learn!
